Delivery dates keep changing.

Ordered a sofa that said “In Stock” on November 14th with a delivery date of December 29th. This was a Christmas present. I kept getting emails saying it would be in the following week. By the beginning of February, when I got another email saying it wouldn’t be in until March, I canceled the original order and reordered each sofa piece separately so it would be in earlier (in February). Absolutely ridiculous that an in stock item would take just as long as a 12 week custom order. This wasn’t the first bad experience I’ve had with “in stock” items. This has happened on a few other occasions where in stock items become backordered as soon as you place the order. If you ordered from Pottery Barn just know you will be waiting for at least 3 months for your in stock item.

Did they change their training? Seems so

My wife missed a sale and called them and they helped her get those same items and a pretty discounted price. When an item came slightly defective, they went above and beyond by giving us another discount. It seems like every time we call for some information or for some help they are going above and beyond and helping us. I had read horrible reviews but it's nice to know that it seems like they've shaken things up

Alway love pottery barns fast ship and quality but I ordered a table runner that was reversible. I assumed lighter color on one side and darker on other but it was actually two colors on top and reversed it was the same. I stilll love the table runner and will keep it but should have been more specific on a $69 purchase.

Already aggravated with pottery barn…

Already aggravated with pottery barn and I haven’t even received my sofa! Their communication is TERRIBLE! Ordered a sofa online, delivery was to be end of January. Fine. Received two emails telling me to schedule my delivery. Hmmm, what happened to January? Called customer service to see if there’s been a mistake. No mistake, your sofa will be delivered next week. Today is delivery day. I follow the link pottery barn sent to see what time the delivery will be. The delivery has been CANCELLED without a single communication from pottery barn, no email no phone call no text, nothing. Very unprofessional! Good thing I checked the delivery or I would have been sitting at home all day, the day before thanksgiving, waiting for a sofa that would never arrive. Get some manners pottery barn

Fast and Accurate

I ordered a bed spread on the 1rst and had it on the 4th. That's pretty impressive. I was also pleased with the accuracy of pictures and description. That's important when there are color choices for an item.

Pottery Barn has been GREAT for me.

Really surprised to see all these one-star reviews. Pottery Barn has been GREAT for me. I wasn't happy with an item I purchased once it was in hand, and despite it being a made-to-order item, and well beyond their normal return window anyhow, due to extenuating circumstances they agreed to allow the return. I have been a life-long customer, and given their commitment to sustainability and style, and with this kind of service, they are the first place I go for housewares and furnishings.

Toulouse King Size Bed

Along with many other items, we purchased the Toulouse King Size Bed. It looks beautiful and seems very well constructed. However, the space between the headboard and the footboard is so short that the mattress barely fits in the opening, with maybe a quarter inch to spare. Making the bed is a very physical process as the mattress has to be lifted up to tuck the sheets underneath. Forget tucking in any other bedding so that the nice footboard is visible. It won't fit and has to hang over the footboard. Maybe they were trying to save money by making the sideboards a little too short, but it is very inconvenient. Making the bed is definitely a two person process.

Most Excellent Service and Delivery

I have read the reviews of 90% of customers that rated Pottery Barn as "bad," and I fully understand where they are coming from. However, I am basing my review on only one transaction that occurred this month and the outcome of that transaction. I ordered a 9' x 12' Persian style carpet, and then later decided to order a carpet pad. I spoke with a very knowledgeable and well-informed customer support rep, who assured me that the carpet pad helps in the long-term (both in terms of slippage as well as protection and in adding a little extra depth to the pile). I informed Pottery Barn I needed the carpet pad before the carpet was actually delivered. Within one week, the pad arrived, and I was able to position it in my living room where my sofa, two chairs, and coffee table are located.Within one additional week, I was notified that the carpet would be delivered on a specific day. Pottery Barn uses an app that targets the exact hour and minute so the customer can start tracking the time on the day of delivery. I was truly amazed at the fact that the delivery truck arrived at the precise time that was scheduled - to the minute! Then the delivery person, Kyle, hoisted the 98-pound rug over his shoulders with single-handed confidence and placed it on my front porch. He was polite, friendly, and conversant. I could not have asked for a better delivery process or delivery rep. I was able to take the rug inside my LR and roll it over the carpet pad. The Persian style carpet is made of wool and is of high quality. It looks great in my LR. Overall, I am extremely pleased with the way Pottery Barn handled my orders. I empathize with customers who have had negative experiences, but it seems that if Pottery Barn got it this right with me, the company could do the same with other customers. Perhaps they are trying to raise their standards as a result of negative customer feedback. I hope in the future Pottery Barn customers will see a change in transactional outcomes.

Shipping estimates are grossly inaccurate. They state one thing - you ordered and then weeks later - they tell you it's backordered. The Seagrass collection - splinters!!! And makes tiny tiny splinters in your hands and legs. They did send someone promptly to pick them up and credit.

Don’t pay extra to have it wrapped !

I ordered a fairly expensive blanket for a former teacher of mine. While I was ordering the gift I check the box that said “this is a gift”, and I paid extra to have it wrapped. I was very disappointed when she opened the gifted and the price tag was still on it. This is very embarrassing and tacky to me. The point of the gift was not to show her how much more I spent on her. I was very frustrated by this sense I had paid extra for the gift wrapping and clearly stated this “this is a gift.” Next time I’ll save myself the money and the trouble and wrap it myself.

Don’t be scared of all the terrible delivery stories

I ordered a custom couch in October 2019, I placed the order in store during a 20 percent off promotion. I also got the credit card to take advantage of no interest for one year. The order process was smooth and the sales associate was great even though I could have Ordered it myself online. I started to really panic reading all the horrible delivery reviews and I had very very low expectations for a good experience but it was all for nothing because the couch arrived when pottery barn stated it would. The online tracking system worked great and kept me up to date with the process. I couldn’t be happier with the delivery and more importantly, my new couch! I normally don’t post reviews but I’m guessing that most people with good experiences don’t bother. But because I was so scared about a terrible and expensive mistake... I had to set the record straight.
